Today, I was doing my normal schoolwork and showering when all of the sudden, I noticed that my little found cockatiel was looking too sleepy to be normal. I continued my day, keeping and eye on him while doing various chores, and watching TV (I know, very summer-ish of me) and reading. About 6:00 He began to look droopy and sluggish while he fluffed up, and he began to vomit up his seeds. I contacted almost every exotic vet that was not too far away, but unfortunately we were unable to be able to get in. I understand that everyone has their specific hours, but I was really frustrated when I could not take my sick bird in to see a vet because they were closed. I am still nervous beyond wits, because I have to wait until tomorrow to get my bird checked out. I am so angry that you can't get quality service when you need it. Oh and I forgot that I called the 24 hour animal emergency vet, but of course the exotic specialist happened to be out early. I am still so worried, and I need to tuck in my bird for the night. Wow, that sounds weird. I gennerally stop holding my birds at about 9:00 so they can settle down for the night. Well goodnight everyone! And pray with me for the bird.
