How do you know that your smoke detectors are working? Well, you try them out. This morning my whole family was sleeping when all of a sudden, all of the smoke detectors went off declaring that there was a fire. Unfortunatly there was no fire anywhere in sight. It just so happened that my brother was up at 6:30 in the morning and was making bacon and eggs with toast when the smoke detectors went off. Of course we did check to see if there was any fire in the house, but apparently the smoke detectors, much like us, did not like being woke up by an innocent brother who had bacon on his mind, and they reacted. Well, the detectors acted like our alarm clocks this morning, and it was quite comical to see my brother by the stove in his pj's and looking guiltily at us. I decided that my brother probably used too much heat to cook bacon with, and the result was the smoke. Well this incident sure got me thinking and now I want to organize a 72 hour kit and organize a place to meet if our house did set on fire. Well I am off to go look up what should be in a 72 hour kit, and then I will go see the wizard...Just kidding about the wizard part.
